Hey there, mama to be! I get it, pregnancy is such an exciting and unique time in your life, and it flies by so fast. Between the belly kicks, the cravings, and all the prep for baby, it’s easy to forget to slow down and really take in the magic of this chapter. That’s where I come in!

I’m Liz, a maternity photographer based right here in Chilliwack, BC, and I’m here to make sure that every glow, every belly laugh, and every tender moment is beautifully captured before your little bundle arrives. My maternity sessions are all about you, whether you’re looking for soft, intimate photos or something more fun and playful (barefoot in the forest, anyone?), we’ll create something that feels authentic to you and your journey.

I know how overwhelming things can get during pregnancy (believe me, I’ve been there!). When I first walked into Babys "R" Us, my mind was spinning and I wanted to run right back out the door! That’s why I handle allthe details. From helping you pick out the perfect outfit to suggesting stunning local spots in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, or even along the Harrison River for your shoot, I’ve got you covered. Just show up and enjoy the experience! No stress, no worries...just you and your beautiful bump.

Want to bring your partner, kiddos, or fur babies? Absolutely! Family is at the heart of what I do, and I love capturing those little moments between you and your loved ones during this special time.

When Should You Book?

The best time for maternity photos is usually between 28-36 weeks, when your belly is nice and round, and you’re still feeling (mostly) comfortable. I recommend booking early since I only take a limited number of maternity sessions each month. This way, we can secure a date that works perfectly with your schedule (and before baby decides to make an early appearance!).

The Maternity Photography Process

I know how busy life gets when you’re expecting, so I make the whole process super simple and stress free!

Step 1: Booking Your Maternity Session

To book your maternity photography session, a session fee of $200 is required upfront. This fee secures your session date and is non refundable, but it comes with a lot of amazing perks!

Here’s what your session fee covers:

A personalized planning appointment where we’ll discuss your vision for capturing your pregnancy. I’ll help with everything from styling to location ideas around Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley.
I’ll also help with sourcing the perfect outfits and offer styling suggestions to make sure you look and feel amazing! (so you don’t have to stress about what to wear.)
A relaxed, custom portrait session at a beautiful outdoor location or in studio, whichever suits your vibe best.
Professional editing and enhancement of the images you purchase.
A post session viewing and ordering appointment where we’ll review your favourite photos and select pieces for wall art or albums.
Gallery wall installation at your home if you choose custom wall art (I’ll even take care of the hanging!)

Step 2: Consultation

This is where we connect over the phone and plan your Chilliwack maternity portraits, tailored just for you! During our call, we’ll talk through everything. From what to wear, to colour schemes, location planning (whether you’re dreaming of an outdoor session in the Fraser Valley or something more intimate in the studio), and the overall look and feel of your session.

We’ll also discuss how you’d love to display your images at home, whether it’s custom wall art or a keepsake album. I’ll make sure you feel confident about your choices and help guide you through every detail. Together, we’ll plan portraits that capture not just the beauty of your pregnancy, but the emotions and connection that make this time so special.

Step 3: The Session

The day of your maternity session has arrived, and it’s time to embrace this exciting chapter of your life. I’ll guide you through the session with relaxed, easy direction to capture the natural beauty of your pregnancy. We’ll mix creative poses with candid moments, ensuring a collection of images that reflect your connection, joy, and anticipation. You’re here to celebrate this incredible time, so sit back, enjoy the experience, and let me handle the details while we create gorgeous keepsakes for you to treasure forever.

Step 4: Choosing Your Images and Designing Artwork

Once your maternity images are beautifully prepared, we’ll meet for your personalized viewing and ordering session. We’ll start with a slideshow of your portraits, allowing you to relive the joy and connection captured during your session (don’t worry, tissues will be on hand!)

Next, you’ll choose your favourite images, and we’ll work together to design beautiful heirloom artwork that fits perfectly in your home. Using state of the art software, I’ll show you how framed prints, canvases, or albums will look in your space. With photos of your walls, you can visualize exactly how the artwork will look on your very own walls!

Throughout the process, I’ll guide you based on the goals we set during our consultation, ensuring your vision comes to life. My focus is to help you create meaningful artwork that your family will treasure for years to come.

Step 5: Product Creation and Delivery

Your custom frames, albums, and prints are crafted with the highest standards to ensure lasting quality that your family will enjoy for years. Every album includes two revisions, giving you the chance to make sure the layout is exactly how you want it.

Once your products are ready, I’ll arrange delivery straight to your door. And if you need a hand hanging your artwork, I’m happy to help with that too!

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to have maternity photos?: Your maternity session is best scheduled between your 30th and 36th week of pregnancy when you have a nice round bump and are still comfortable moving around. If you are expecting twins (or more) or are likely to have your baby early, we might decide to schedule your maternity photographs around 28 to 30 weeks.
Can we include my partner and my kids?: Absolutely, and there is no extra fee! Including your husband and kids (even your dog) in maternity pictures is a wonderful way to celebrate the upcoming arrival of your new baby and create meaningful family memories. It's a personal choice, so do what feels right for you.
What should I wear?: You should wear what you feel comfortable and beautiful in. The best options are form fitting dresses and shirts that accentuate your baby bump.
Do I have to show my belly?: You can choose to reveal your bump as much or as little as you want. Some expectant mummies want to show a silhouette, whereas others like to reveal all! Whatever you decide, your images will reflect your personality, show your excitement and help you to record and enjoy this special time.
How long is a maternity session?: Maternity portrait sessions are around 1 to 2 hours in length. This allows for outfit and location changes as well as lots of breaks.
Do I need to buy any special clothing for myself or my baby?: When you book with me, I will send you a newborn session preparation guide with lots of information including what to wear for your whole family. Your baby will either be wrapped or nude during their session. I provide all outfits, wraps, hats and headbands, so not to worry.
What happens after my session?: After your session, I will get right to work culling your images. We will meet back up in about 2 weeks for your viewing and ordering session. At this time, we will watch a slideshow of your images and then select your most favourite images. I will guide you through the whole process from beginning to end.
Where should we take the maternity photos?: We can shoot anywhere in the lower mainland from Abbotsford to Hope (beyond these areas are also possible but with a travel fee.) We can even take them in my studio with you and your partner if you feel more comfortable. Just remember that the location should reflect your personal style and preferences.
Can I bring props or personal items?: Of course! This can include baby shoes, ultrasound photos, a onesie or anything else that is meaningful to you.
